Delo Kulturni šimpanz s podnaslovom Razmišljanje o kulturni primatologiji bi rado v zeleni zbirki Studia humanitatis naredilo za običajne tudi tematike, ki po tradiciji in trdoživi nevednosti ne sodijo v klasično postavko humanistike in družboslovja. Razširja torej obzorja zanimanja vede o človeku in družbi in ugotavlja, da imajo živali kulture in celo zgodovine. Nastala je na podlagi terenskega dela in dolgoletnih proučevanj in opozarja na nastajanje arheologije primatov, kar pomeni razširitev raziskav materialne kulture iz sedanjosti v preteklost. In marsikatero spoznanje (že) povezuje izsledke raziskav opičje in človeške preteklosti. In vendar:”Ni treba skrbeti zato, da bi ljudje v kulturah drugih vrst prepoznali same sebe.
