Kulturni obrat, Izbrani spisi o postmoderni, 1983-1998 je izjemno vplivno delo s podočja družbene kritike, ki je močno določilo razmišljanje in razumevanje obdobja, ki ga za nazaj označujemo kot uveljavljanje neoliberalizma. V njem avtor v osmih poglavjih pronicljivo in eruditsko presoja temeljne teoretske paradigme ( na primer teorije postmoderne, antinomije postmodernizma ) in tudi praktične premene tega obdobja, pa tudi razmerja med njimi, kot so: postmodernizem in potrošniška družba, “konec umetnosti” ali “konec zgodovine”, arhitektura, idealizem in zemljiške špekulacije idr. Predvsem je aktualno poglavje o kulturi in finančnem kapitalu, o razmerju, ki zanj Primož Krašovec v spremni besedi pravi, da je Jameson “z mečem dialektike presekal sicer težko misljiv vozel med kulturo in ekonomijo”.
